Bloggers Funfair with Joe Browns

blog, catwalk, event, fashion, fblogger, Funfair, Launch, london, new, style

So I wasn’t planning on doing anything last Wednesday night, but on Tuesday I happened to see a hashtag on Twitter that I couldn’t not research into- something about bloggers and a funfair… you so would look too!
It turned out to be a small gathering of bloggers to showcase Joe Browns new A/W collection inspired by the funfair at a bar near Leicester Square. I nudged my fav blogger girlattherockshow and she came along with me after work and we had a blast.
The bar was filled with sweet funfair treats like popcorn and candy floss and there were even games to play like hook a duck and a sweet grabber machine. The collection was placed all around the area we were in; bags, shoes and hats with a big rail in the centre to browse through. I spotted a luxurious kaftan that I am dying to grab- so of course I tried it on! The tassle detail at the bottom worked a treat! If you want to see it on the site just search Devore Kaftan

I bumped into Scarlett London by chance who sat down next to us and was great to meet her. If you aren’t already following her blog please do!

Another fab blogger who I sat next to during the catwalk show was uptown style. She was such a laugh and would love to hang out with her again!

The catwalk show was excellent. Really lovely and upbeat, and I swear all the models were trained dancers from the way they turned so effortlessly. Another piece that caught my eye besides the kimono was a stunning jacket with embroidered floral detail on the front and back. It was what I can only describe as an edgy but delicate combination, much like me (or so I like to think!) what do you think?

The night was a great spur of the moment decision and am so glad that I had the opportunity to go and meet the people behind Joe Browns, plus some new bloggers too!

Check out their full catalogue here and see if there’s something that catches your eye!

Bloggers Love Fashion Week

bblogger, Beauty, blog, catwalk, event, fashion, fblogger, Jewellery, lingerie, london, Makeup

Oh my oh my. What can I say other than what a fantastic day I had at the Bloggers Love Fashion Week!

Organised by the bloggers hangout, the day featured 2 sessions (afternoon and evening) of networking and fashion shows.
I started by meeting my good friend Lissa of Girl at the Rock Show at the venue, The Oxo Tower. I had been there before for a Cosmopolitan event and love the place. It’s just perfect for pop up events with different stalls.
We started by saying hello to Paul & Joe who had the most gorgeous eyeshadow kitty strips, or as Lissa likes to call them, eye-pads! They are so unique, I’ve never seen anything like them before. Perfect for clutches if you don’t want to take out a bulky eyeshadow palette! These strips peel back and reseal so you never have messy powder in the lining of your bags!

Next, we went to say hi to Motel Rocks. This year Motel Rocks is fast becoming one of my favourite brands. I will be posting a Motel Rocks haul soon of things I’ve collected at two of their sample sales recently. I always get complimented when I’m wearing motel and so was delighted to see them at the bloggers love event with some pieces from their new collection. I’d recommend joining the motel family, it’s a way to hear about things first and have access to exclusive news and competitions.

I really could go on to write about all of the companies that were at the bloggers love event, but instead I’m going to pick my top 5. I will then be doing smaller features on the others over the coming months, as it will take a while to see results from some of the beauty products I want to try out.
Miglio_logo

Miglio were by far my favourite jewellery company at the event. The striking rose gold and silver bracelets caught my eye instantly and as I spoke to the reps I fell more in love. Miglio is a South African company and prides itself on empowering women around the world by offering them commission based jobs to sell the jewellery. The necklaces are similar to pandora, where you can buy separate pendants, clip them on, and you can wear the chain in many ways to match your look of the day/night in a matter of seconds. I am hoping to to on to use some of the pieces in a petite model Photoshoot later on this month!
boadicea_logo

Boadicea are a perfume company originating from Great Britain. As soon as I walked up to the table I could smell the oud, one of my favourite scents! Oud comes from the wood of the tropical Agar (Aquilaria) tree, believed to have originated in the Assam region of India. I picked out my favourite scent “Glorious” and was more than happy to take a sample away with me!
with love lilly_logo
With Love Lilly were one of a few lingerie brands at the bloggers love event. Truth be told, I had never heard of them before but I am always glad to come across brilliant new designers. Each bralette was like a work of art, they used incredible colours and patterns to create the sets. My absolute favourite was the EVE set, picture below!

4. Tru Brit/ Little Ondine

Now I feel I have to write about both of these nail polish companies, as they are both up and coming and different in their own way. True Brit London is great for flashy colours, and I had my nails done at their bar. 4 days on now and not one chip on my two coats. The colour was called ‘Heirloom’ and is a lovely warm metallic colour. In some lights it just looks silver, but in others almost rose gold. Pic below!
P1120512
The Little Ondine stall is also one to mention. They have twin packs which come like this
I really liked the look of these, as they are a way of taking more options with you when you travel without having to worry about space in your makeup bag or having the weight of 4 different bottles. They also have an easy peel off function, so no chips either!
My favourite colour on the day was Copper Spark
Magnitone_logo
BareFaced-Orange-Image-1
I think I’ve saved the best till last here. I had never heard of the magnitone before the bloggers love event, but I am so glad they were in the lounge with their amazing product. The magnitone is a sonic exfoliator which you use in circular motions on your face with your cleanser each morning and night. There are different options for different skin types, and the brush head needs changing every 3 months or so (much like your toothbrush) depending on usage. I loved the colour options and design of the magnitone. Although I have yet to use it I have spoken to other bloggers who have started using theirs from the event and all are crazy about it. I got mine in a wonderful pastel orange, and will be trying it out at the weekend, so I will do an update on how this goes next week!
I would highly recommend following the Bloggers Hangout for the latest news on future events, and also I would love to know your thoughts if you went to this event or have tried any of these products- get in touch! For now, have some more pics including catwalks! My pineapple bag was such a shout🙂

My daily makeup regime- work

bblogger, blog, bloglovin, fashion, Makeup, new

Hi all,
I’ve been thinking that I’ve done a lot of posts about events and photography, but I want to bring something about beauty and fashion to the table too. I thought that I would start with my daily regime Monday to Friday to get things going!

So I’m not really a morning person at all. I find it really difficult to wake my body up and raise myself into getting dressed. Once I’ve checked my emails and Instagram I manage to somehow get myself out of bed and to the bathroom, where I have my lovely box of beauty products to help set me up.

I start by using a vitamin C skin reviver from the body shop. This citrus wonder will brighten up dull skin and the smell is zesty enough to wake your senses up at least! I apply very small dots to my cheek, nose, chin and forehead and rub it in circular motions using my hands. This makes my skin feel energised and smoothed, ready for primer!
I use Laura Mercier’s tinted primer in Radiance with a brush and apply in strokes to my full face. This helps the foundation to stay on longer and it has a tinted glow so if I’m not using foundation this will suffice.

My foundation is Nars. I have recently made the switch from Mac to Nars. It wasn’t because I didn’t like Mac, I still use their other products, but I found that the colour didn’t quite match my skin tone well enough. After taking a trip to selfridges in August, I had the Nars counter match me to light 2 and I am much happier with the colour now. It looks more natural which is the look I love.

I apply the foundation with a Mac brush first to the full face, I dab it on, and blend in with a sponge. I get my sponges from poundland or cheapy stores, as they are £1 for 30 disposable sponges- that’s a whole month!

After this, I use the Nars vanilla concealer under my eyes and to any dark areas. I also use to highlight my nose and blend again with the sponge

I’m not big on contouring, but I do like a bit on definition on my cheekbones. I apply a Mac cream blush shade bamboo to my cheeks with a Mac brush.

For lips, I love using just lip liner and gloss. At the moment I’m loving my Nars liner in Morocco and my gloss of choice is a French brand I got in my July glossybox called Délicieuse

Eyes- urban decay 3 palette!

I apply the lightest shade to my lids, then just choose a random colour each day to go round my brow bone with. Some days it’s bright, some days dark, but all still natural and neutral perfection.

I use a benefit brow kit in dark to shape my brows and lengthen them at the ends. To finish off, I simply add some Mac powder to my nose and cheeks to help set the makeup, and I find that it doesn’t need any touching up throughout the day.

I’d love to hear what you think, if you use similar products or are looking to switch your regime up. Comment below!

Petite model update!
I am absolutely thrilled with the response I have had over the past few months about my new modelling company: Petite Model Management
I have just completed the final test shoot and I am so happy with the results so far! I have a grand total of 19 girls ready to be signed in September.
I will be working with the models to build up their portfolios if need be and will be organising various shoot days so that we can all get together and have some fun in different locations around London.
A few ideas put forward already are:

Bath and flowers shoot

Calvin Klein wet hair shoot

Asian bridal style shoot

Alien makeup (inspired by the new Star Wars campaign for Max Factor)
I’d love to show you a few of the models on here, but for more please see the Twitter page here and the Facebook page here

If you would be interested in joining the petite model management team as a model, please submit a clear headshot with no makeup plus any work from your portfolio to petitemodelmanagement@gmail.com

To be eligible you must be no taller than 5″7 and must be able to travel to London if you are invited for a test shoot. Size and age does not matter

Photoshoot sneak peek- warning latex!

blog, fashion, lingerie, london, Makeup, Modelling, photography

So yesterday evening I had the pleasure of working with Annie and Aleks as we did a last minute Photoshoot at my flat. I was wearing 2 pieces by a latex designer and we had such a great time!

My look was dark pink eyes and we recreated doll like poses. This was my first time wearing latex for a shoot, and although I struggled to get into it, it looked fab on!

We used my living room and bedroom and did some elegant shots with light boxes. I wore my cherry Vivienne Westwoods for the final touch and left my hair down and loose. I don’t really wear pink clothes or makeup so it was a nice change as I wouldn’t have chosen to wear something like this normally!
I’ll be posting the finished photos up on my model page here and on my insta here over the next few days, so watch out!!!

A Sparkling evening with Swarovski

blog, fashion, fblogger, Jewellery, Launch, london, Swarovski

On Thursday 30th July, I couldn’t wait to ditch the office flats for my heels as I rushed over to Oxford Street after work. InStyle magazine had organised a special reader event in one of Swarovski’s Regent St stores. No expense was spared on the decorations; silver balloons glistening like diamonds and bags of sweet treats hidden in every corner. They even had Ciaté nail technicians on hand to give manicures too!

As I entered and took a glass of bubbly off the nearest tray to me, I couldn’t decide where to begin. The store was packed with ladies and handbags as well as mountains of jewellery, so I found myself stopping at the closest cabinet. My eye was immediately caught by a stunning pair of earrings, they were V shaped, rose gold, and they had my name on them! Thanks to the £10 gift card given to us on arrival, I purchased these for £59 on the night instead of £69. Check them out online here, they come in silver too!

We had a trend talk from InStyle’s Fashion Director who told us that mixed metals are the must-haves this season. My Delta earrings also have matching sister rings and necklaces, so we’ll see how long it takes for me to mix these up! After making my purchase, I headed for the manicure table. I chose a nude blush colour called ‘Amazing Gracie’, and almost 5 days on not a single chip. Ciaté are well worth the investment of £9 per bottle, and they have just launched a collection with Olivia Palermo, so they are gaining a name for themselves since launching in 2009.

InStyle have another event coming up in August- this time they have collaborated with Bravissimo and will take place in InStyle’s London office on the 12th August. Get your tickets for £10 here, I’ll definitely be going there on another adventure soon!

News for July!

Agency, blog, Business, fashion, fblogger, Launch, london, Makeup, Modelling, new, Petite, photography

It’s July! And it’s crazy hot here in London today- temperatures are soaring upwards of 30 degrees in this heat wave and I’m at work in a gladly air conditioned office!

So, I thought I would let you all know some exciting news happening this month and throughout the summer-

I am in the preliminary stages of setting up my own management company for Petite Models!

The company will be called Petite Model management and I am so thrilled to be working with some amazing petite models over July and August for test shoots!

I feel really passionate about the industry of fashion and modelling, and have seen for a long time now that there is a huge gap in the market for petites. Of course some agencies do have a petite range of models, but this is disproportionate to the majority of models on their books, nor is there an actual UK based agency specifically for petites. So this is what I will be focusing on trying to create this year!

If you are under 5”7 and this is something you would love to know more about please get in touch! I am welcoming all ages and ethnicities to come and test shoot with me in London for free this summer!

Also if you are a MUA or designer and are looking to collaborate with a bunch of petite beauties, also please get in touch!

I hope that this will grow into something big through word of mouth and through social media- at the moment I have a twitter set up and once I have selected my models from the test shoots I will be setting up a website!

Any comments or willing participants, share the word that petite is fierce and we are coming to get you!

Travel guide to Dubai

blog, Dubai, fashion, fblogger, H&M, Travel

I’m not sure how a country can be so relaxing yet be so vibrant and exciting at the same time. But somehow Dubai did it.

This was a great holiday from start to finish, and let me tell you it was a great start to be flying business class for the first time! We were on the friends and family list due to our gracious host in Dubai being a pilot for Emirates. When we got to Gatwick we were directed to premium check- in and security (which I never knew existed), and words cannot describe the flight. I hardly noticed the 6 and a half hour journey out as I spent most of it ‘knocked out!’ – I blame the mattress and horizontal bed experience. Having a personal minibar helped too :)

So… The holiday

Much like most of my holidays, I think I spent the month running up to it in full pack-attack mode. I created a holiday inspiration Pinterest board which you can find here: (https://uk.pinterest.com/Saharasplash/holiday-inspo-dubai/) I had a lot of fun putting together outfits that were both concealing enough for Arabic culture, yet free flowing and airy enough that I wouldn’t combust or melt in the 40 degree heat.

2 malls I recommend are the Emirates Mall (where you can go skiing in their indoor slopes!) and the Dubai Mall. Both have every shop imaginable and the food courts are fulfilling in every way- take a visit to P F Changs at the Emirates Mall and elevation burger in the Dubai Mall.

Last time I visited Dubai I did the Atlantis water park, this time I ventured to Wild Wadi. Although this is smaller it is a lot less crowded. I think there were about 80 people in the whole park when it opened at 10, and only started to get busy when we left at 2. This was quite a memorable day as while watching a well built man doing the wave machine I suddenly realised that it was in fact Jensen Ackles from Supernatural… in swimming trunks and nothing else…so a hot day! Side note- check out my awesome monogrammed bikini from H&M! They were doing it for free in Oxford Circus so I had to get it!

We were lucky enough to visit the Cayan Tower on our travels round the city- picture below. This building twists one degree for every floor, so by the time you are on the 90th floor and look down you are facing a different side! We went to take a peak off one of our friends balconies and the view of the marina was just stunning.

Dragonmart was the last activity of the trip. It’s a market that is shaped like a dragon, the rooftop tiles are scale-like and it goes on for miles. Go visit the Dragonmart (http://www.dragonmart.ae) for anything and everything- literally! Clothes, gadgets, electric goods and the kitchen sink!

Like all good holidays, they come to a close just as soon as they begin, but I have some great memories of Dubai this year and hopefully some great photos too that will keep me going till my next venture :)
